The Managing Director of the FHA, Oyetunde Ojo, revealed this during the recent inauguration of the agency’s operations in Abuja.

He said the digitisation drive was part of the repositioning of the agency to allow Nigerians anywhere in the world to invest in it.

“FHA is looking at going beyond the 20,000 target to about 100,000 housing units delivered around the country as collaborations with the state governments that own the land have been fruitful. In addition, FHA is set to initiate a Diaspora city initiative for Nigerians abroad,” he declared.

He also stated that the platform had distinctive features that would include the allocation of homes and the collection of ground rents among others.

According to Ojo, this initiative is the first phase of the automation of operations, which will enhance the internal process of the agency for smooth operation, with a second phase expected to be launched in the coming weeks.

He remarked, “The launch of the digitalisation drive signifies a commitment to modernise and streamline our operations and enhance service delivery. By leveraging the power of technology, we aim to revolutionise the way we work, collaborate and innovate within FHA.”

Ojo added, “The first phase of the digitisation project is for all internal processes, and the second phase will involve external clients who are in the final phase and will commence in two or three weeks, signifying that anyone anywhere in the world can get across to us.’’

“The enormous nature of these projects has made the digitisation of FHA more expedient. We are repositioning an FHA where people could stay in the confines of their homes and monitor their investments with us; buy houses, obtain any information they want, just by the click of a button.”

The FHA boss emphasised the importance of eliminating corruption from the system through the full implementation of ICT.

He said,” From automating manual processes to digitising records, implementing advanced analytics, and enhancing cybersecurity measures, our digitalisation efforts will touch every aspect of our organisation.”
